Calabasas Residence
In this residence we performed a fairly extensive internal remodel (in addition to providing some drainage and concrete work outside.) We tore the travertine floor out, leveled the floor and put in all new wood flooring. We also gutted and refurbished one bathroom, installed new cabinets and a countertop in a hall closet to create a beautiful and useful nook, refinished a fireplace and applied a custom Portala Paint finish (which looks like old-world plaster) and installed new hardwood shelves around the fireplace.
But the real magic came in the kitchen, where we removed the wall between the kitchen and the dining room, creating a spectacular open floor plan (this required installing a new structural beam where the wall had been removed,) and we created a new island with stone countertop and wood surround, installed an induction heat cook top, new cabinets with under-cabinet lighting, all new appliances, and new stone counters. And, as if that wasn’t enough, we installed a new bar in the TV room. We think it all came out pretty nice. Here are some before, during, and after pics.
